This article in London's Guardian exposes probably the worst human rights violations in the world today. And the deafening silence from the UN merely reinforces the absurdity of the notion that it is the supreme arbiter of right and wrong in the world. The horrifc conditions in which the average North Korean lives, not to mention those with the misfortune to have crossed Pyongyang's maniacal regime, is a true crime. I wonder how many flights and meetings and consultations Kofi Annan will have before he ever does anything about it. The best bet is that he will do nothing.
